{"id":1098,"date":"2024-06-26T00:05:47","date_gmt":"2024-06-26T00:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tradetrovex.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/26\/first-samples-ever-collected-from-far-side-of-the-moon-make-it-back-to-earth-2\/"},"modified":"2024-06-26T00:05:47","modified_gmt":"2024-06-26T00:05:47","slug":"first-samples-ever-collected-from-far-side-of-the-moon-make-it-back-to-earth-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tradetrovex.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/26\/first-samples-ever-collected-from-far-side-of-the-moon-make-it-back-to-earth-2\/","title":{"rendered":"First samples ever collected from \u2018far side\u2019 of the moon make it back to earth"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>China\u2019s lunar probe has returned to Earth, making the country the first to bring back samples from the moon\u2019s far side.<\/p>\n<p>The re-entry capsule of the Chang\u2019e probe touched down in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia at about 2pm Beijing time (7am UK time), carrying lunar soil collected earlier in June.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sdc-site-outbrain sdc-site-outbrain--AR_6\">    <\/div>\n<p>At the start of the month, <strong>the probe had successfully landed at the moon\u2019s South Pole<\/strong>, in the Aitken Basin, a gigantic impact crater that always faces away from Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese scientists anticipate the returned samples will include 2.5-million-year-old volcanic rock and other material that they hope will answer questions about geographic differences on the moon\u2019s two sides.<\/p>\n<p>The moon\u2019s near side \u2013 which always faces the Earth \u2013 is flatter and has fewer impact craters.
