{"id":1988,"date":"2024-07-24T23:00:23","date_gmt":"2024-07-24T23:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tradetrovex.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/24\/crowdstrike-company-that-caused-global-techno-meltdown-offers-partners-10-vouchers-to-say-sorry-and-they-dont-work\/"},"modified":"2024-07-24T23:00:23","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T23:00:23","slug":"crowdstrike-company-that-caused-global-techno-meltdown-offers-partners-10-vouchers-to-say-sorry-and-they-dont-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tradetrovex.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/24\/crowdstrike-company-that-caused-global-techno-meltdown-offers-partners-10-vouchers-to-say-sorry-and-they-dont-work\/","title":{"rendered":"CrowdStrike: Company that caused global techno meltdown offers partners $10 vouchers to say sorry \u2013 and they don\u2019t work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The firm behind the global IT outage that cost companies billions, ground 5% of the world\u2019s air traffic and brought NHS systems to their knees has given out $10 food vouchers to say sorry.<\/p>\n<p>And for some, they don\u2019t even work.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sdc-site-outbrain sdc-site-outbrain--AR_6\">    <\/div>\n<p>CrowdStrike sought to thank and apologise to its \u2018teammates\u2019 and partners for the extra workload resulting from the outage last Friday which knocked out millions of computers worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>According to a screenshot said to be part of the thank you email sent out to staff, the firm recognised the \u201cadditional work\u201d the 19 July incident caused \u201cand for that, we send our heartfelt thanks and apologies for the inconvenience\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But some recipients <strong>posted <\/strong>on social media that <strong>it hadn\u2019t worked for them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad--teads\">        <\/div>\n<p><strong>The firm behind the world\u2019s worst IT outage \u2013 who are CrowdStrike?<\/strong><br \/><strong>CrowdStrike gives update on cause of global IT crash<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TechCrunch, <strong>who originally reported the story<\/strong>, said they tried applying one of the gift cards but an error came up on the Uber Eats page saying it \u201chas been cancelled by the issuing party and is no longer valid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A CrowdStrike spokesperson said in a statement to Sky News: \u201cCrowdStrike did not send gift cards to customers or clients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did send these to our teammates and partners who have been helping customers through this situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUber flagged it as fraud because of high usage rates,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>Last week\u2019s outage, which has been described as the world\u2019s worst as its effects are still being felt today, was caused by a faulty software update which affected an estimated 8.5 million Microsoft Windows PCs devices.
