{"id":2214,"date":"2024-07-30T23:00:41","date_gmt":"2024-07-30T23:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tradetrovex.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/30\/tesla-recalls-1-8-million-vehicles-over-unlatched-hood-issue\/"},"modified":"2024-07-30T23:00:41","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T23:00:41","slug":"tesla-recalls-1-8-million-vehicles-over-unlatched-hood-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tradetrovex.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/30\/tesla-recalls-1-8-million-vehicles-over-unlatched-hood-issue\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla recalls 1.8 million vehicles over unlatched hood issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Tesla has issued a recall for more than 1.8 million vehicles after it received reports that the hoods on some were unintentionally popping open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">According to a document filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Tesla said in March that it began to look into reports from drivers in China about what it called \u2018unintended hood opening events.\u2019 <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p class=\"\">Subsequent company investigations revealed the presence of deformed hood latch switches, an issue that it said \u2018could prevent the customer from being notified of an open hood state.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Further studies led the company to issue a voluntary recall of affected vehicles \u2018out of an abundance of caution.\u2019 No injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of the issue, Tesla said, and only 1% of vehicles are likely to suffer from the defect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">But, it acknowledged that \u201cunknowingly driving a vehicle with an unlatched hood may result in the hood fully opening and obstructing the driver\u2019s view, increasing the risk of a collision.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The recalled vehicles include: <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">To remedy the issue, Tesla has released an over-the-air software update, as it customarily does in instances of recalls. <\/p>\n<p class=\"endmark\">The recall is Tesla\u2019s ninth of the year, and the fourth since 2022 to affect more than 1 million vehicles.
